Holiday Hike

To celebrate the 4th of July, some friends and I went on a hike south of Breckenridge. We climbed a few mountains - Lincoln, Bross and Democrat - for most of the morning and early afternoon. It was the perfect way to escape record heat in Denver and enjoy the sun on our Independence Day. Hope yours was great, too. Here are a few pictures.

"No Camping" wasn't strictly enforced.

Colorful forbs near the Bross summit.

Matt leaving the summit of Lincoln walking west.

Lunch break mid-way between Democrat and Lincoln.

Francis's Corolla did really well on the bumpy, circuitous road to the Kite Lake parking lot at around 12,000 feet elevation. It's always nice when you can start hiking above treeline.

There's still heaps of snow in the high country, especially through the Gore Range and west toward Aspen.

Awesome pictures and a little more exciting than what Greg and I did most of the day. Talk to you soon.
